About Me

I’m an NCTJ qualified journo. Published by @bbcsport, @Sportsbeat, @MENSports, @TheLeaguePaper and @TheCricketPaper, communications experience with @TeamGB.

In this blog I will write about anything that catches my attention, from the latest football issue to the smallest of minority sports.

I have a background in sports biomechanics research and have experience working with elite athletes, conducting three-dimensional motion analysis and putting together videos of recorded performances to aid coaches.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for the blog, or you would like to know more about myself and my writing then please leave a comment or contact me via pjones2@me.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for checking out my blog and come back soon,

  1. Awesome idea Phil! It’s about time you provided the world with an insight into your sporting knowledge and enthusiasm 🙂

  2. I literally fell onto your blog, read the “It’s Not Always Good To Talk” post and had to bite my fist to cover the laughter from the others in the office. I’m sure you’ll not be ‘aspiring’ for long – BBC should snap you up, but you seem more a Yahoo Eurosport kind of guy, because Phil McNulty (whose a moron) seems to hog BBC space.

  3. Hi Phil, I’ve got a couple of SPOTY related pieces I wanted to send you to see if they’re of interest for a mention on the site. The email address on your page doesn’t seem to be working though. Can you help? Cheers

  4. Hi Matt,

I’m not sure why the address isn’t working, I’ve received several messages today and I’ve triple checked that I typed it correctly! If it’s still not working then try p.e.jones@lboro.ac.uk as an alternative.

I have to say I normally keep this site for my own writing (not that I’ve ever had any offers to feature other people’s work though) but I’d be more than happy to refer to your pieces at the bottom of mine if you wish?

    Thanks,
    Phil
